Our First Day Working in the Community - 6/17

By Annie:

Today we arrived in Bullet Tree Falls to begin our day of work and teaching at Immaculate Conception School.  There are groups washing the outside of a building to prepare it for a new coat of paint, another taking out old windows to install new aluminum ones, and a third group designing a bike rack to build for the students.

After our morning of work, we enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Ondina and she taught some of us how to pick oranges.  We are teaching for the first time and cannot wait to meet our students!  Our theme for the day is The Body of Christ and each student will be receiving a "My Faith" book to reflect on what they learn each day.  Their book also asks them to reflect on a saint each day.  Today's saint is St. Angela!  We are excited to share her story with the students of Immaculate Conception School.

Hi Mom and Day!  I am having a great time here.  I am having a lot of fun exploring Belize and meeting new people.  Love You!  See you soon.
